Recruiting Practices
At C&D, we prefer to recruit from within whenever possible, providing, of course, that our personnel are adequately equipped to meet your goals. We follow “First Right of Refusal” guidelines established by the FAR Federal Law, and all of our advertising and recruiting efforts conform to the spirit and rule of Department of Labor regulations, including those applying to the EEOC and Affirmative Action.

Recruiting Methods
Newspaper—We regularly use recruitment advertising in local newspapers, and employment tabloids.
State Job Service—We maintain regular job listings—on both electronic and traditional billboards—in the Job Service offices nearest our active security sites.
College and Business Schools—We maintain job listings and posters on the campuses of most colleges and business schools near our active security sites. Schools offering GSA Security certification are specifically targeted.
Retirement Centers and AARP Listings—We maintain job listings in numerous retirement centers, and with many retiree job placement programs.
Military Job Placement Programs—We maintain job postings and actively recruit on all military bases near our security sites. We’re also one of the few security companies that regularly recruits at retirement and out-processing, notifying potential candidates via bulletin board and electronic postings.
Client Bulletin Boards—When compelled to downsize, a number of our clients allow us posting space on their corporate bulletin boards, from which we actively recruit new officers.
Grocery Stores—We maintain job posters and postings at grocery stores in areas near active security sites. Since these bulletin boards are subject to frequent changeout, we only use them when hiring deadlines are particularly sensitive.
Employee Referrals—For over ten years, C&D has been paying referral bonuses to our employees for any recruit who qualifies and is hired. The bonus is $20 if the new candidate remains with us over 30 days, and an additional $20 if the employee is still with us after 90 days. This policy has proven fruitful to both management and employees, and is quite popular with our officers.
Online Resources & Organizations—We maintain job listings in websites such as Craigslist.org or others.
